Founding designers of iconic fashion label Sass

Founding designers of iconic fashion label Sass & Bide leave the business they started from scratch in the hands of Myer

The creators of leading Australian brand Sass & Bide have left the business after 15 years.

Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton are leaving to pursue other creative projects and the brand will now be run under the direction of Myer, which bought the business in September last year for $72.3 million.

The department store bought a 65 percent stake in the business in 2011, and last year purchased the remaining 35 percent.

Ms Middleton told Vogue Australia it was a joint decision to leave the brand that they built up from a London market stall.

'It was an instinctive decision that we both felt and we've always based our larger decisions in the business on intuition,' she said.

Ms Clarke added: 'We came together, we're leaving together. We just felt that was the perfect cycle.'

Chris Colfer was appointed as CEO earlier this year, after previous work at luxury brands including Alfred Dunhill and Richemont International which owns Montblanc and Cartier.

Anthony Cuthbertson will take over as design director, after working with Victoria Beckham, Mulberry and Ralph Lauren.

Ms Middleton will move to Paris to explore other creative projects that fit in with her illustrating and art directing background.

She will also devote more time to children's charity work for Barnardos and Bravehearts.

In 2007, Ms Middleton found out she had breast cancer just after the birth of her second child.

A malignant lump was removed from her breast and she took cancer drugs for years afterwards.

In 2009, she said 'cancer can be a blessing if you survive it'.

'Everything is richer and fuller and more wonderful after going through something like that because you do have a feeling of mortality, and feeling lucky to survive,' she said.

Ms Clarke will remain in Sydney and enjoy her new freedom.

The pair added that it is not the end for them as a duo, and said they have plans to work on other projects together in the future.

Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth reunite on new show

When thinking of an upcoming scene from their new ABC Family sitcom, "Mystery Girls," now airing Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET, Garth giggles at the memory of Spelling going for it, making a funny face and using a strange voice.

That's just one reason the two like to work together.

"I feel safe doing some, like, goofy, crazy face and voice because it's my friend. I know she's gonna be there to support my efforts," explained Spelling in a recent interview.

"She knows I love it," added Garth, who readily admits she's the first to break character in a scene.

Unless you skipped the 1990s, you know they were co-stars on one of the most popular TV shows of that era, "Beverly Hills, 90210," about teens living in the exclusive Southern California zip code.

It went off the air after 10 seasons in 2000 but Spelling and Garth have remained friends. They even briefly reprised their roles for the CW's "90210" reboot. Spelling guest starred on a couple of episodes. Garth appeared on the first two seasons.

They never expected to work together full-time again but Spelling came up for the premise and it all fell into place.

On "Mystery Girls," Garth and Spelling play former co-stars of a hit 90s detective TV show of the same name. They've gone their separate ways, until a crime occurs, and the witness will only talk to them. From this, they end up opening a detective agency.

Both actresses also serve as executive producers. They have their hand in the show's look, wardrobe and "every little thing," said Spelling.

"Our personalities are (to be) micro-managers. We can't delegate that much but we're learning," she said.

The two say they rarely disagree on decisions but Garth will defer to Spelling sometimes "because it was her idea."

They chose to do a sitcom because, "it's more fun than doing a drama," said Garth. "The schedule, the hours. We both have a lot of kids so it's like banker's hours compared to doing an episodic show like an hour-long drama or something."

For Spelling, having a sitcom was a career goal.

"I did the best I could on '90210.' Like I tried to make Donna funny. I was in a drama. Everyone else was great at drama but I was like, 'I think I'm better at comedy so how can I interject comedy here and there?' and so Donna was kind of goofy and I did things here and there but I was always, this is harder for me. I wish I could do comedy."

The gig also comes at a good time for Spelling's personal life. Her recent marriage struggles with actor Dean McDermott have been documented both in the press and on the Lifetime docu-series, "True Tori." On that, cameras followed Spelling in the aftermath of learning her husband had an affair and he subsequently went to rehab.

Spelling says it's undecided whether there will be more "True Tori."

"It was something that I needed to do. ... I don't know what the future holds," she said.

With all the rumors swirling around her personal life, she felt it was best to document what was happening on camera: "It was the best vehicle to tell my truth." Still, putting her personal problems on display can seem strange to some.

To that Spelling says, "It was something I needed to do so don't feel bad."

Kavita Kaushik becomes bi-weekly attraction for her F.I.R. fans

Kavita Kaushik is one of the leading ladies of Indian television with her role in the hit police television series "F.I.R.". For most actors the news that their show was being changed from a daily show to a bi-weekly show would result in huge protests but she reacted completely different which is a testament to her foresight as an actress.

In an interview about the change she revealed her complete support for the change because in her opinion the show is a sitcom not a soap opera and as such for it to be shown on a daily basis impacted the quality of the show. Her support of the show as a bi-weekly being only shown on weekends is one of the many reasons why Bollywood television producers and film producers consider her not only the consummate professional as an actress but someone for whom being the star of a production is an appropriate place.

The attractive actress was recently photographed at the gun range practicing her shooting while wearing a new 'braided' hairstyle and her attractive appearance has some entertainment insiders speculating about what the next entertainment move might be for her.

In F.I.R. she plays a police officer who as the leader of a team officers not only fights crime but does so with humour. The role and interestingly her popularity with men has made her someone whom filmmakers are looking at as someone who could become a leading lady on the big screens as well.

She is an actress whose attractive appearance is one of the things that brings men and women to the television screens but it is her acting range, in particular her ability to make people laugh without seemingly trying to which keeps the viewers coming back to her show.

Kavita Kaushik, an Indian beauty with a funny bone, an attractive and appealing combination for fans and filmmakers.
